During this presentation we share our experiences of working with Firebase’s backend-as-a-service (BaaS) model during the development of Coop’s WeNeed app. We will have an in-depth look at the technical challenges we needed to overcome and the limitations and advantages of Firebase and the BaaS model in general.
The goal of this presentation is to hopefully provide enough insight, so that colleagues can make an informed decision on whether Firebase or the BaaS model is the right fit for their project.

Stefan Lazarevski is an iOS Engineer at Netcetera AG. Stefan graduated in 2016 with a BSc in Engineering and IT from St. Cyril And Methodius University in Skopje North Macedonia.
In 2017-2021 Stefan worked as iOS Engineer at Abix DOOEL in Skopje. Since 2021 he is with Netcetera in Skopje as iOS Engineer and has been working on the implementation of the iOS version of the Coop WeNeed App.
